Dance to Make a Difference at CU Boulder (9th Annual)

Who Are You Helping? Ayla Charness (pictured above) Ayla's parents began noticing unexplained bruises on their daughter's body when she was 3 years old. The mysterious symptoms were quickly diagnosed when blood test results showed abnormally low platelets counts. Ayla suffered from a rare and serious blood disorder: Idiopathic Thrombocytopenic Purpura (ITP). In patients with ITP, the immune system attacks the platelets, restricting the body's ability to stop bleeding. Even the smallest bruise or cut could prove detrimental for Ayla. Ayla is now 9 and although her condition continues to be a significant challenge, she has blossomed into a courageous, patient, mature and empathetic girl who loves school, swimming, dance and playing violin and piano. She is a true champion.
Dance Marathon is a continuous, multi-hour student-run event held each year on college campuses. It blends dancing, music, games, food and a variety of entertainment into one experience where students raise money for Children's Miracle Network Hospitals to benefit Children's Hospital Colorado. Dance Marathon is an event that becomes part of the culture of the school and enhances the campus image within the community.
The objective of Dance Marathon is for the students to meet their fund raising goals, gain valuable life and educational experiences, and to walk away with a lasting impression of the impact that they have had on the lives of our young patients.

Search for the student you want to support by entering their first and last name and clicking the Search button.
Select the student's name from the search list generated at the bottom of the screen.
On the student's Donation Page, enter the dollar amount you wish to donate and click Continue to be directed to a secure donation form.
If you wish to attend the event, click the Participant Registration link under the Visitors tab in the left hand column of this homepage.
